This book is well written and the contents are so important for any school counselor. I think the news has proven that violence doesn't just happen in inner-city schools. All counselors need to be prepared no matter where their school is located! I am so glad that this was required reading for me for a class.By Ellen Rodenhauser Rebman
This book was assigned as part of my psychopathology course for my school counseling degree. It is an excellent resource. I feel much more prepared to deal with serious, life-threatening issues in the schools after reading this text. I would highly recommend it to any graduate students, school counselors, and even teachers. This is definitely a book worth keeping and I will not be selling it back.By Love, EPC
I did only give it four stars because I wish the authors had included more information on programs listed as best practices, as well as a guide to implement those programs to be a success within the school. The book is heavily focused on intervention and postvention strategies. I wish it had spent an equal amount of time on prevention.
